FAQ – Tricyclic Antidepressants Drug Test Dip Card

    1. What is Tricyclic Antidepressants?

Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCA) are a class of antidepressant medications used to treat depression, anxiety disorders, chronic pain, and certain sleep disorders. They were among the first antidepressants developed and work by increasing levels of serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain while blocking acetylcholine receptors, helping to regulate mood and pain perception.

    2. What is the cut-off level?

The cut-off level for this test is 1000 ng/mL. This means the test will detect Tricyclic Antidepressants at or above this concentration in the urine sample.

    3. How accurate are Drug Test Dip Cards?

Drug Test Dip Cards provide up to 99% accuracy when used correctly.

    4. Can a dip card give a false positive result?

Yes, though rare, false positives can occur due to certain prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, or dietary supplements. If a positive result occurs, it is recommended to confirm it with a laboratory test (GC/MS or LC-MS/MS) for accuracy.

    5. What does a positive or negative result look like?

Negative Result: Two lines appear – one in the control (C) region and one in the test (T) region.
Positive Result: Only one line appears in the control (C) region; no line appears in the test (T) region.
Invalid Result: No line appears in the control (C) region, which means the test was not performed correctly or is defective. A new test should be conducted.

    6. Can Drug Test Dip Cards detect multiple substances at once?

Yes, multi-panel dip cards can detect multiple drugs simultaneously. They are available in different configurations, such as 5-panel, 10-panel, or 12-panel tests, depending on the substances being screened.

    7. How much urine specimen is required for a successful test?

A minimum of 30ml of urine is required to conduct a proper drug test using the urine drug testing dip cards.

    8. How should I store the Dip Cards?

Store the dip cards in a cool, dry place at room temperature (36–86°F / 2–30°C). Keep them in their sealed packaging until ready for use to maintain accuracy and performance.

    9. Can I use a dip card test at home?

Yes, these test kits are designed for both professional and at-home use. They are easy to use and do not require any special training or additional equipment.

    10. Do Drug Test Dip Cards require any special training to use?
