Alcohol Saliva Screening Test Strips – Case of 24 – ALCO SCREEN
ALCO SCREEN Alcohol Saliva Screening Test Strips offer a fast, reliable, and user-friendly way to detect the presence of alcohol in saliva. Designed for use across personal, workplace, law enforcement, and medical settings, these single-use test strips deliver accurate results in just 2 minutes without the need for instruments or training. The simple dip-and-read format allows for quick screenings anytime, anywhere, making it an ideal tool for safety-conscious individuals and professionals.
Each strip detects the presence of alcohol at concentrations as low as 0.02% BAC, with results displayed via a clear color change on the reactive pad. The test is non-invasive, requiring only a saliva sample collected directly or via a mouth swab. A visible color shift compared against the included chart gives a semi-quantitative estimate of BAC, helping users make informed decisions without costly equipment or delays.
Alcohol Saliva Screening Test Strips is FDA 510(k) cleared, CLIA-waived, and certain models (e.g., ALCO SCREEN 02) are DOT-approved, making them compliant with U.S. regulatory standards for both over-the-counter and professional use. It’s an effective alternative to breathalyzers, especially where electronic devices are impractical or costly to maintain. Because it uses saliva instead of breath or blood, it's discreet, hygienic, and easy to administer—even in field or remote settings.
Convenient, Fast and Invaluable
ALCO SCREEN is an invaluable tool for employers and safety officers aiming to maintain an alcohol-free workplace. Its speed and ease of use allow for on-site testing of employees in industrial, transportation, or office settings – helping to enforce “zero tolerance” alcohol policies and prevent accidents before they happen.
Supervisors can perform random screenings or test employees post-incident with minimal disruption, since each test only takes a few minutes. The strips’ portability means they can be used in the field or at remote job locations without the need for bulky equipment. This is especially useful in safety-sensitive industries (construction, manufacturing, aviation, trucking, etc.) where quick decisions are critical.
With these credentials, ALCO SCREEN has become a trusted choice for alcohol screening worldwide. Millions of tests have been used across industries since its introduction, and it remains a go-to solution for quick and dependable alcohol detection. Whether for personal peace of mind, workplace safety compliance, law enforcement, or medical assessment, ALCO SCREEN Saliva Alcohol Test Strips deliver clinical-grade accuracy in a convenient, user-friendly format. By combining scientific reliability with practical ease-of-use, ALCO SCREEN helps create safer environments and informed decisions whenever alcohol testing is needed.

How to use Alcohol Saliva Strip
Alcohol Saliva Screening Test Strips provide a fast, easy, and reliable way to screen for various substances or health indicators using a fresh urine sample. Follow the steps below to ensure accurate results:
Preparation: Bring the test strip and urine specimen to room temperature (59–86°F / 15–30°C) before testing. Do not open the strip packaging until ready to use. Use the strip immediately after opening.
Sample Collection: Collect a fresh urine sample in a clean, dry container. Ensure the container is free from contaminants or cleaning agents that may interfere with the test.
Dip the Strip: Dip the reactive end of the strip (the end with the test pads) into the urine sample. Immerse only the test area, avoiding the plastic handle. Hold the strip in the sample for 1–2 seconds or as directed on the product packaging.
Remove and Drain: Remove the strip and gently tap or wipe the edge on absorbent material to remove excess urine. Place the strip on a flat, non-absorbent surface with the test pads facing up.
Wait for Results: Allow the strip to develop for the recommended time (usually 1–2 minutes). Do not interpret results after the maximum reading time, as accuracy may be compromised.
Interpret Results: Compare the color changes on the test pads to the color chart provided on the packaging or insert. Match the test pad colors to the chart to determine the result for each parameter (e.g., drug presence, glucose, pH, etc.).
FAQ – Alcohol Saliva Screening Test Strips
1. What is Alcohol?
Alcohol, scientifically known as ethanol, is a type of organic compound that falls under the category of volatile, flammable liquids. It is formed through the process of fermentation, where yeast or bacteria convert sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide. Alcohol is commonly found in beverages such as beer, wine, and spirits, and is consumed worldwide for recreational purposes.
2. What is the cut-off level?
The cut-off level for ethyl glucuronide is 500 ng/ml. In other words, the test detects ethyl glucuronide when its concentration in the urine sample reaches or exceeds this threshold.
3. How does an alcohol saliva strip work?
To begin, the strip reacts with alcohol molecules in the saliva. As a result, a color change occurs on the strip, which is then compared to a reference chart to determine the alcohol concentration.
4. What is the detection range of alcohol saliva strips?
Generally, these strips can detect alcohol concentrations ranging from 0.02% to 0.30% blood alcohol content (BAC), depending on the brand and sensitivity.
5. How accurate are alcohol saliva strips?
Alcohol saliva strips are highly accurate, with an accuracy rate of approximately 98% when used correctly. However, factors such as improper handling or contamination may affect the results.
6. How long after alcohol consumption can it be detected using saliva strips?
Typically, alcohol can be detected in saliva for up to 12-24 hours after consumption, depending on the amount consumed and individual metabolism.
7. Can food or mouthwash affect the results?
Yes, for instance, certain foods, mouthwashes, or medications containing alcohol may cause false positives. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid eating, drinking, or using mouthwash at least 15 minutes before testing.
8. Are alcohol saliva strips reusable?
No, instead, they are designed for single use only and must be discarded after testing.
